Dr. Andrea Holmes, PhD, is a Professor of Chemistry at Doane University with academic appointments at the University of Nebraska Medical Center and the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. Her research and scholarship span analytical chemistry, forensic science, cannabis science, molecular sensing technologies, controlled substance detection, and translational research at the intersection of science, policy, and public safety.

Over the course of her academic career, Dr. Holmes has secured more than $5 million in competitive research funding, authored numerous peer-reviewed publications, textbooks, and patents, and received national recognition for both scientific achievement and excellence in education, including the National Science Foundation CAREER Award and the Henry Dreyfus Teacher-Scholar Award.
